The 100 Day Journey

I've been doing long form, daily practice art projects for a long time and I can honestly say they have changed my life.
Daily practice projects are often monthly/30-day challenges or the now classic 100 Day Project. They're are ideal:
- if you're not being creative but want to find/make the time
- if you want to learn a new artistic skill
- if you're a blocked artist (ie you have a creative history but it's been a while)
- if you have a hobby and want to take it more seriously/break through boredom
- if you're an artist and need an excuse to pursue a specific/random interest
- if you're an artist and you want to supercharge your practice or get going on a new project.
I've engaged in 100 day projects nearly every year since 2016. In 2026 I decided to see if anyone wanted to do one alongside me. I called it "The 100 Day Journey: a creative camino" and it was MAGICAL. Read this blog for a little insight into it.
There were 80 people on the weekly email list and over 50 of us crossed the finish line. The drop-out rate is way higher - we were stoked! The group energy was essential to this success, as well as courage, resilience, and the creative flame burning in each of the members. There were weekly emails from me, regular Zoom calls, and quarterly IRL meet-ups. Listen to this episode of The Creative Kind podcast to hear how it went (for me and the group) and to see if it the project sounds like something you want to do.
I am working on concepts for slightly shorter creative caminos, a 50-day journey and one that's specifically about ceremony/specialness.
100 day projects have made my life almost completely artistic. Life is deep and filled to the brim with meaning. Daily practice projects have enabled me to make friends and to feel like I belong. I've gotten better at skills that I enjoy and which enable me to express myself. They've connected me with ancestral knowledge and a sense of common humanity.
If these are things you'd like for yourself, come with me on a long or short camino. Drop me line or fill in the pop-up on this page.
