CHARYBDIS (2024)
A continuation of my work with the figure in colour, begun in preparation for my Embodiment solo show in 2024. She is one of a few different explorations in this Encore collection of the value in repetition and departure, inspired by a quickly-drawn sketch of an art model by Klimt.
Named after the daughter of Poseidon and Gaia (no pressure on THAT girl lol!), Charybdis has fluid, sensual spirit. Cherished offspring of elemental royalty, embodied in the 21st century. She is water and earth and fire and air. Asleep or dancing? I'm not sure... .
