THIS PRINT
One of the favourites from my incomplete 100 Day Project in 2020, #watercolourconversation, one of the last painting-drawings I completed during the project. Anyone who has followed me for a while on Instagram knows that I have an enduring love affair with France. This one is a fantastical landscape but as I drew it it, it began to remind me of Provence in September: bright, magical, wild.
A4, unframed.
Open edition, signed.
Pigment print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag.
Printed to order by PCL, experts in photographic printing based in Newton, Auckland. Please allow 5 working days to process your order.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The 100 Day Project ended up happening as the world went into Lockdown due to COVID-19. My project gave me structure and enabled me to reach out to people via the internet (crucial for me, as I was in lockdown by myself). Each day, I painted with watercolour, photographed it, and posted the work on instagram early in evening, asking for feedback on what people could "see" in each artwork. I would then draw over the top of a photograph of the painting, using a stylus. Often there was more than drawing.
I think I made it to Day 37, officially, and continued the project as restrictions lifted in New Zealand. Eventually, I abandoned the project as my life became busier and other creative and business activities took over. Despite only lasting about six weeks, the project served me in so many ways, and brought other people pleasure, too.
