ONDINE #4 (2024)
Part of a series of small studies I made in the middle of 2024. She began as an exercise in the power of repetition and ended up a very satisfying exposition of how complementary colours (oranges and blues) come alive in transparent gestural layers. Ondine #4 is like a statue in motion.
Using a photograph of a friend dancing in the shallows at Thorne Bay, I wanted to discover what working on paper was like as I worked with my perennial interests:
Lyricism. Colour. Form. Interaction. Transparency. Figure. Abstraction.
