THESPEIA (2024)
A continuation of my work with the figure in colour, begun in preparation for my November solo show. Her posture is ambiguous: yearning, entreaty, or declaration? I love the brush work in the blue of her bodice and the warm berry tones beneath.
Named after a figure from Greek mythology, Thespeia is the fluid, sensual spirit of a water sprite, embodied in the 21st century.
